FLAG: The French flag is called the tricolor because it’s the union of three vertical bands of blue, white and red.

PRESIDENT/KING’S NAME: Nicolas Sarkozy is the president of France.
3 NEWSPAPERS /PRICE:France-Soir”, “Le Monde” and “Le Figaro” are the most influential newspapers in France, they all cost round 1 euro.
4 BASIC EXPRESSIONS: “Comment allez-vous?” (How are you?) “Comment vous appelez-vous?” (What’s your name?) “Bonjour” (Good morning) and “Quelle est ta nationalité?” (What is your nationality?)
3 ARTISTS (writers, painters, etc): Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas and Claude Monet are all world renowned French artists. The first three are writers and the others are painters from the impressionist movement.
