Leo Tolstoy was born on the 8th of September 1828 in Yasnaya Polyana which is in the Tula region of Russia.

The Cossacks, War and Peace, The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Anna Karenina are 4 of tolstoy’s most famous novels and  The Power of Darkness, The Fruits of Enlightenment and The Living Corpse are 3 of his plays.

WHAT’S HIS WHOLE NAME?
His full name is Lev Nikoláyevich Tolstói.


WHAT ARE HIS 2 MOST FAMOUS NOVELS ABOUT?

War and Peace: This novel focuses primarily on five aristocratic familes and their experiences in life. The interactions of these characters are set in the era leading up to, around and following the French invasion of Russia during the Napoleonic Wars.

Anna Karenina: Anna Karenina tells the tale of a love affair with rich portraits of Russian high society, politics, and religion.

WHERE IS IT?

The Red square is situated in the heart of Moscow, Russia.
WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF ITS NAME?
The name of Red Square comes from the Russian word “krasnaya” which can mean either "red" or "beautiful". The word was originally applied (with the meaning "beautiful") to Saint Basil's Cathedral, and was subsequently transferred to the nearby square.
