WHERE IS IT? It’s located in Giza Necropolis, Egypt.
 
WHEN WAS IT BUILT? It was built by the Egyptians in 2561 BC.
WHAT IS IT MADE OF? The Great Pyramid consists of an estimated 2 million limestone blocks with most believed to have been transported from nearby quarries.

HIS name means “Living Image of Amun”.

WHO DISCOVERED HIS TOMB?  Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamen’s tomb in November 1922.

HOW OLD WAS HE WHEN HE BECAME “KING”? He became pharaoh at the tender age of nine in 1337 BC.


WHERE IS HIS TOMB? Tutankhamun’s tomb is in the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt
HOW OLD WAS HE WHEN HE DIED? He died in 1323 BC aged 18 having ruled for 10 years.

WHICH “KING” ORDERED TO BUILD IT? Pharaoh Khufu ordered the construction of the pyramid to serve as his tomb.

THIS MONASTERY is situated where Moses received the Ten Commandments


INFORMATION CARD: St. Catherine’s Monastery
WHAT’S ITS FULL NAME? Its full name is St. Catherine's Monastery.
WHAT DOES THE MONASTERTY PRESERVE? St. Catherine's preserves the burning bush seen by Moses and contains many valuable icons. Above the monastery is Mount Sinai.
WHO WAS CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA? WHY IS SHE RELATED TO THE MONASTERY? The virgin Catherine died a martyr death in the 4th century. The church of St. Catherine in Alexandria is said to be the place of her martyrdom.

WHAT’S THE CODEX SINAITICUS? Codex Sinaiticus is one of the most important books in the world. The manuscript contains the Christian Bible in Greek, including the oldest complete copy of the New Testament.
